Half-Finished Playlists
somewhere in my phone,
there are playlists i never finished,
songs paused mid chorus,
albums i swore i'd explore from start to end,
and i wonder if they are more honest than me,
because they don’t pretend to be complete.
each track is a fragment of my attention,
a moment i wanted to hold onto but let slip.
maybe that’s what life is
not the full album,
not the perfect mix,
but these half-finished moments
that somehow keep playing anyway.
i scroll through them and see echoes of myself
in every skipped song,
every track i never understood,
every shuffle that chose for me.
and it hits me,
the fragments are enough.
the unfinished pieces are the story.
maybe everything unfinished
isn’t failure.
maybe it’s proof that we are alive,
that we try, that we move forward
even when we don't reach the end.
maybe the half finished moments
are the ones that matter the most.
because they remind us
that life isn’t a straight line,
that clarity isn’t a requirement,
that presence itself is proof enough
that we have moved through time,
even if we never understood it all.
